Caroline Hirons x Pixi : The Cleanser Dreams Are Made Of

Created by Caroline Hirons, this 2-in-1 cleanser is just the best of both worlds. First of, Caroline Hirons is probably the person I trust the most, like in the entire universe, when it comes to skincare. Her blog and Youtube channel are endless sources of inspiration. She’s a brilliant skincare expert, super smart, genuinely honest and despise b***s*** beauty talks. If I double cleanse, if I use an eye cream, if I exfoliate, if I’m basically taking care of my skin at all, it’s thanks to Caroline.

I have used this cleanser for a few months, and got a new one on Asos the other day because if I can have it with me at all times I feel better. That’s how much I like it.

IMG_7951IMG_7952

It has a solid oil on one side, like a cleansing balm, and a gorgeous cleansing cream on the other side. Basically your whole cleansing routine in one lovely pot. As you know my skin’s extremely sensitive and this cleanser knows it too. Gentle, sans perfume, affordable, it does wonder to my skin. On their website, Pixi explains what lovely ingredients are contained in the balm and the cream.

In the Solid Cleansing Oil
• Oil Vitamin E – Protects & conditions
• Camellia Oil – Omega rich & nourishes
• Evening Primrose Oil – Heals & moisturizes

In the Cleansing Cream
• Vitamin C – Promotes collagen & protects
• Peptide Complex – Line relaxing & plumping
• Arginnie – Improves cell renewal & elasticity

Doesn’t it all sound great? I use the duo at night, and sometimes the cream on its own in the morning. It completely takes off my makeup, leaves my skin feeling clean, souple and taken care of. I wish they would sell the products separately actually because I tend to finish the cream before the oil. I truly hope it’s in the pipeline!

I reckon it is THE cleanser I would recommend to everyone I know. Voilà, if you’re looking for a new cleanser, you know what to do!

Current Skincare Routine

I thought I’d share my current skincare routine with you because my skin has be quite happy for a few months and I think I’ve found the key to major glow. Just so you know, my skin is slightly dehydrated but pretty normal overall, though keep in mind it’s extremely sensitive so I tend to use very gentle products.

IMG_7556.jpg

Morning

Cleanse – Cerave Hydrating cleanser. Super light and nice to my skin. Might need something a bit more hydrating when it’ll get colder. Super affordable, great, non fragranced morning wash. If you’re on a budget, it’s the perfect morning cleanser, or second cleanse in the evening.

Serum – There’s no picture of this product because I’ve sadly finished it. Alpha H vitamin C serum has simply changed my skin. I’ve since become obsessed with Vitamin C based products and will tell you more about a new item that I’ve just started using soon. It has a light consistency, does not smell of anything, and honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from it. I have Vitamin C with a glass of water in the morning and I’m bored just telling you about it, so in a serum? Boy was I wrong. It gave luminosity and glow back to my skin which is all I want in life so I could not recommend this enough.

Moisturize – If I need something a bit more intense than the Alpha H serum, which is very light, I tend to use Advanced Night Repair which I’ve been in love with for years, and, even though it’s a night serum, you can most definitely wear during the day. This ANR serum has changed my skin, anytime I react to anything, it fixes my skin almost immediately. If needed, I top it off with moisturizer, this time I might use the Cerave Moisturizing lotion.

I should wear an eye cream, I don’t, sue me. Or don’t because I’ve actually just purchased some Drunk Elephant products, including the very well-known C-Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream. I’ll report back about that in about a month time!

IMG_7709IMG_7440.jpeg

Evening – First Cleanse with Origins Gentle Cleansing Oil. Lovely, affordable, effective. I have to say I’ve come to the realization that I’d rather use a cleansing balm than an oil because I find them easier to manage, the product doesn’t run between your fingers and I guess you can really work the product into the skin. However this Origins oil is doing the job!

Second cleanse with Cerave, again, this stuff’s good!

Then, I use oils. Every. Single. Night. I’ve talked about my favorites before, and they’re still the same, so instead, let me tell you about the biggest discovery I’ve made recently.
In the evening, on top of the oil, I actually NEED to add a moisturizer. I was telling a friend about this the other day and I felt a bit silly because well, it’s not a groundbreaking discovery. But to me it was. Why? Because I just thought my skin did not need it. Consequently, I would not apply anything on top, terrified of changing anything in my routine because my skin is so reactive. I was convinced it was unnecessary, even when my skin made it clear it needed more than an oil.

Ah, habits! It all shifted when I heard about the launch of Drunk Elephant in the UK, which means, thanks to the amazing Cult Beauty website that I can get it in France! I’ll write a whole post about Drunk Elephant skincare, but just so you know, I’ve purchased Lala Retro Whipped Cream which is a nourishing all-purpose moisturizing cream and it has simply made my skin look alive. I fancied adding a more luxurious step in my skincare routine and I did miss using a lovely luscious cream so I treated myself and my skin’s basically thanking me.

Do share your latest discoveries if you fancy to, I’m ALWAYS interested in your skincare advices and/or routines!

The Best Product To Cover Spots (in my humble opinion)

I don’t know why I haven’t told you about this before because it has truly changed my life. Yesterday I posted a little video on my Instagram Stories featuring the Glossier highlighter in Haloscope because it’s really amazing. A girlfriend of mine sent me a DM to tell me my skin looked great. Which first of all, is so lovely to hear. But second of all, is partly due to my skincare routine which I’ll share with you next week (Woop Woop) and partly thanks to Dermablend 3D Correction Resurfacing Active Foundation. I’m not the first one to talk about this product, but honestly, I don’t even care, I HAVE to tell you about it here, on Le Beauty Journal because if you’re a human, and get spots from time to time, well, this will certainly might help.

IMG_7628.jpeg

Now Dermablend is a very well-known range but I won’t go into details about it because all I want to tell you is that it WORKS. I decided to buy the foundation version because, call me cheap, there’s more product in the tube than there is in the concealer version. So here’s how I use it. I use my Real Techniques Expert Concealer Brush (which is the perfect tool), dab the tiniest amount on the back of my hand, and only apply it on spots. I use a small amount because it’s extremely full coverage, and I like my skin to show through makeup so I would not use on my entire face, but you could most definitely do. However I don’t want my spots to show through, and thanks to this Dermablend Foundation, they don’t anymore. If I want the coverage to be less intense, after using the brush, I would dab a damp Beauty Blender on top just to make it even more natural.

The biggest bonus in my opinion, is that I feel like it helps my spots to heal. It doesn’t dry out the skin, but gently resurface the area around and on the spot which is one of Vichy’s claim regarding this technology. I’m not usually convinced by claims like that, but I’ve been using this product for months, and I have to say it does improve the appearance of spots and how quickly they heal. I can’t believe I’ve waited so long to try this out. It costs around 20 euros and is probably the best skincare/makeup item I’ve invested in the past few months. It means I don’t freak out as much when I have a spot, it means I don’t get scars as much as I used to, it means I know the spot is being taking care of during the day… Basically, it means I feel better when I have spots!

How amazing is that right?

Skincare routine coming soon, get pumped! (Can’t believe I just used the word pumped).

Little Things #1

I’ve been a bit busy lately, but the good kind of busy. Still, I haven’t been super present on the blogging front, so I’m hopefully making it up to you with today’s blog post. I’m coming back with an article about those little things that make life better, you know? It could be something you read, your new mug purchase (hint hint) or buying yourself some flowers. Little things #1 will be a series because there’s never too much things to be inspired by I think and here’s the first episode. Oh and I’d love it if you shared yours in the comments actually!

1. Glossier Cloud Paints

A friend of mine recently hooked me up on some Glossier goodies which I am SO thankful for! I got boy brow in brown, stretch concealer in light, the Glossier You solid perfume (which I’ll tell you about soon) and two Cloud Paints, one in Puff which I’m almost finished of so I needed (yes I am using that verb, because I truly need this stuff) a new one and I also got the shade Haze, a dark flamboyant pink which I LOVE. The formula is still excellent, and the pigmentation is unreal, you only need the tiniest amount. I also really love the finish on lips with lip balm underneath, glossy and deeply pink.

3. Old Hoop Earrings

I got these like 10 years ago at a flea market, but I’m falling in love with them again. They’re simple hoop earrings, they’re not gold plated or anything though they seem to last pretty well over years. I love pairing them with a pair of white jeans, sneakers and a boxy t-shirt. Or with a dress if I’m feeling extra fancy. Great and simple style addition if you ask me!

2. Marc Maron WTF Podcast

I’ve written an entire post about my favorite podcasts, but I have to reiterate on this one because it’s so brilliant. Today for instance, I listened to the episode with Jason Alexander (from Seinfeld amongst other things) and it was great. Marc Maron is a great interviewer and though I don’t listen to all the episodes because I don’t know all of his guests, I often just click randomly on the list of shows and am never disappointed. I find that this podcast simply is the best destination for smart and inspiring conversations!

IMG_5591IMG_5551

4. Vichy Mineral 89 serum

Now, this serum is so good to my skin it’s the best discovery I’ve made in months. Vichy Mineral 89 is packed with water, 89% of mineral water actually which to be honest made me a tad sceptical at first. Paying 20 euros for water? No no. Still, I wanted to give it a try because I was looking for a good hydrating serum with an affordable price, suitable for my extremely sensitive skin. This one only has 11 ingredients, and a really watery texture. Yet it works on my skin and it might be because it also has hyaluronic acid and glycerin. My skin feels more hydrated and soft (also it never got irritated because the serum is fragrance-free which is a huge plus for me), and I have to say, I feel like it’s giving me glow! I’ve been using it for 5 weeks now every single day, and I highly recommend it!

5. The Office Mug

I mean, do I even have to explain why? I LOVE The Office (US version, need to watch the original UK series) and I miss it from time to time, I need to watch it again actually. In the meantime, I got this mug, and it just makes me so bloody happy it’s insane.

Blogging On A Budget And The Tyranny Of New Releases

The other day I was telling someone  “I don’t know what to write about on Friday. I want it to be a beauty-related post but it’s not that easy to write because I’ve already told the readers about my all time favorite products and my budget doesn’t really allow me to get new stuff constantly“. That’s where I thought, here’s a post idea!

I buy the products I use myself and to be honest, I’ve been really into fashion recently, so my pocket money goes into dresses, jeans, and I’ve been trying for ages to find sandals that actually are comfortable and look good, not an easy task let me tell you! So there’s nothing new for me at the moment, makeup or skincare wise. And guess what? It’s fine. Especially because, I have a few articles all about what I use and love, and maybe you haven’t read them yet…

Buy new stuff turns into new discovery, turns into research online, turns into “oh I did not know that product, oh what’s the brands, oh it sounds like it’s going to change my life”, turns into well, buy new stuff.

Ha! Also, truly, it’s fine because why would we always have to get new stuff you know? I have a friend who’s as fund of makeup and skincare as I am, and we text and talk about it a lot. It’s great, it’s like when I was a kid, playing, it’s SO MUCH fun to get to share this passion. We both get really excited about new releases, new trends, makeup items, skincare discoveries. But I think it’s fair to say how aware we both are of how much of a “vicious circle of consumption” it can be.

That’s how it works for me : Buy new stuff turns into new discovery, turns into research online, turns into “oh I did not know that product, oh what’s the brands, oh it sounds like it’s going to change my life“, turns into well, buy new stuff. That’s one of the reasons why I loved skincare more than makeup when I first started to get into the beauty world. So many products feel like they’re going to make you bloom into a new version of yourself.

I remember back in December, having a couple of weeks where I felt quite down, and all I could think about was buying skincare. (…) I kept ordering stuff that I couldn’t wait to try, but hey, breaking news, I was still depressed, with a little less money in my bank account.

A version with a glow, healthy looking skin, fuller brows, plumped lips, smooth legs and bright under-eyes. I still deeply believe that skincare does actually change the way your skin looks and feels because there’s so many amazing products out there. Still, when you find a routine that works for you, that you sometimes switch up a little but mainly stick to, what’s left to talk about, when in the meantime, the beauty industry releases new products almost every single day? Honestly, I’ve completely screwed up my skin at some point because I was trying everything under the sun so I’m done doing that. Here’s the thing as well, I’m into this new trend thing, that you might have heard about… saving money!

I remember back in December, having a couple of weeks where I felt quite depressed, and all I could think about was buying skincare. I guess in a way I wanted to take care of myself, not just on the outside though. The action of applying skincare products really relaxes me and comforts me. That’s when my skin freaked out in a major way. I kept ordering stuff that I couldn’t wait to try, but hey, breaking news, I was still depressed, with a little less money in my bank account. Sometimes I buy a serum, I research it a lot, take the time to think about whether or not I’m going to buy it and I get really excited about the product, the idea of using it, the action of using it, and usually, I love the result. But when feeling down, it simply doesn’t do the trick. Regarding makeup, it’s a game I LOVE to play, but I simply can’t spend more of what I’m able to on it, and I have to stay wise, you know? Also, I’m quite low-key with makeup. I don’t wear tons, and for example, one eyeshadow palette is all I need. However, blush? It gives me life and I could buy a new one every week.

I just thought I’d share my view on this here because maybe you’re feeling the same or maybe you think this is old news, either way I’d like to know your point on view! So, let’s review the situation here : I don’t need anything at the moment skincare and makeup wise, because I’m all set, got a nice routine at the moment , AND, because I only buy stuff when I finish a product.

Regarding skincare, the last thing I bought was the Clinique Take The Day Off balm because it’s great, doesn’t irritate my skin, it’s basically a safe purchase that I “needed” because I have just finished my Oh My Cream Cleansing Balm. My last makeup purchase is from Glossier, I got the Haze Cloud Paint Blush thanks to a friend who brought it back for me from the US, but I don’t have my hands on it yet. The other stuff I got from Glossier? Well, old favorites. A Milky Jelly Cleanser, Boy Brow in Brown, the Glossier You solid perfume which will be a new discovery, and Cloud Paint in Puff that I already own but have almost finished.

I have a few skincare discoveries in the making but I haven’t been testing them for long enough to tell you about it. Though I do mention what I’m using at the moment on my Insta Stories if you fancy watching that! Do let me know your thoughts on this topic and let’s start a conversation, shall we?

Magic cream : Weleda skin food

I’ve known about this product for so long but never really thought it would be my jam. Girl, was I wrong ! I have just finished my first tube, and immediately bought a new one therefore I thought I’d write an article for you on this subject, because it’s so, so good ! Also, I’d like to point out that my sensitive skin has not reacted at all to this product, I mean, it has, but in the best way ! No allergic reactions, nothing but plumped, glowing skin !

WHAT’S THIS STUFF ?

It is a multi-purpose rich cream for face, body, hands etc. Weleda is a natural and organic brand created in 1921 that I really trust. I use their shower creams because it is sulfate-free and smells like actual lavender which I love.

Weleda Skin Food has been around for ages, and I’ve actually been seeing a lot of people talking about it on Instagram pretty recently, specifically Makeup Artist extraordinaire Katie Jane Hughes, whom I adore. I decided to go for it, and get myself some. Verdict ? I now need this in my life forever. Just so you know, I have combination skin, dehydrated and I suspect I have dermatitis seborrheic.

fullsizeoutput_2825fullsizeoutput_2824

HOW I USE IT

It’s thick, and you don’t need much. Warm it up between your hands before application and enjoy the texture and the lovely smell which I could not really describe, I’d say it’s quite fresh, with a hint of lemon/pine/tree ? Honestly, great smell !

Quick treatment

First, I thought it could be nice to try it around my nose, where the dermatitis seborrheic just won’t go away. And it definitely helped ! I think I should be more consistent and apply it regularly, because it’s still there, but it’s definitely not as bad as it was : after applying Skin Food, my skin felt smoother and less irritated. Actually telling you about it, reminded me how good it was when the dermatitis was just at its worst, so I’m going to make it my mission to use it faithfully, starting tonight !

Overnight magic

Then I decided to simply use it as a night cream for a couple of nights. That was a great decision let me tell you. The next day, my skin was souple, softer, nourished yet not clogged. I would not use it as a night cream every night, since I don’t have dry skin, it would be too much. From time to time though, works great !

All over glow

I also, sometimes, only put it on my cheeks at night. I do my skincare routine, and at the end, just massage a tiny amount of Skin Food where my skin could use it. So… basically everywhere except the T-Zone area. I also apply it on the high points of the cheeks if I want to add some glow to my tired face, before I do my makeup. That way I feel like, I look better, and my skin’s enjoying a little extra boost in the morning.

If my skin were to freak out again, I’d, without question, choose Skin Food because of how gentle, effective and reliable it is.

To sum up : gorgeous formula, low price (around 8-9 euros), cool brand… If you haven’t yet, you should definitely give it a try ! Hero product for sure.

The most gentle cleanser I’ve ever tried

Ok, so I’m assuming you’ve read the title of this article. Now, this product is not new in the beauty game, and I’ve heard plenty of people talking about how amazing it is. But wow, it seriously is.

I’ve told you all about my new favorite balm cleanser the other day, today I want to share with you the second step of my double cleansing routine. I’ve been looking for something extremely gentle, though the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser is great for my sensitive skin, the gel-like texture made my skin feel a little bit tight, especially with the crazy weather we’ve had over the past couple of weeks.

REN is a brand I’ve loved for quite some time. They were possibly the first brand I got really into when I first discovered my passion for beauty. It was hard to get hold of at the time but I remember telling all my friends about this super cool and not too expensive brand that you could trust because of how transparent it was, and still is ! Furthermore, I really appreciate the fact that it’s a clean skincare brand. Meaning, no sulfates, mineral oils or petroleum, no synthetic colors or fragrances. Which to me is the equivalent of “No Bullshit”. I’m all for that !

So when looking out for a new cleanser, I thought I’d give the Evercalm Gentle Cleansing Milk a try.

fullsizeoutput_2660fullsizeoutput_2667fullsizeoutput_266c

fullsizeoutput_2660

fullsizeoutput_266e

It is lush. The scent which I could not really describe (I’d say fresh and calming) is out of this world. The texture is a dense milk, almost like a cream, and one pump is enough for my entire face. I massage it on dry face, and really take my time. Then I use a hot cloth, and remove it gently. My face feels clean yet protected which is not a sensation I see that often after cleansing because of how sensitive my skin is.

I LOVE it. It’s 22€, and is aimed at, quoting REN here, “Sensitive and/or delicate skin. Skin affected by pollution (city life, smoke).” I mean, it has my name on it. And potentially yours !

Double Cleansing : The Balmy Discovery

fullsizeoutput_262e

As I told you before, I used to clean my face with a Dove soap many moons ago. Then I discovered beauty blogs (Caroline Hirons more specifically who’s a trained professional, and whom opinion I trust immensely) and realized it’d be nice to actually cleanse my face with a product designed for that purpose. Later on, I read online that some people would recommend to double cleanse and I was a bit sceptical. Though now, when I think about it, it sure makes so much sense to double cleanse ! You remove makeup, and then you clean your face. Quite logical right ?

At first I thought it might be a bit too much for my skin, and in France nobody I knew or read was talking about double cleansing at the time (around 4-5 years ago). Being quite low key I just was not sure it would be necessary for my skin. Yet it completely changed the texture and the quality of my skin. Et voilà, I would not ever not double cleanse (is that a correct sentence ? Pardon my English) !

2 steps is all it takes and the first one is a new discovery

Years went by, I tried my fair amount of cleansers, and today I thought I’d share my latest discovery with you. I have just found the perfect first step cleansing balm : if like me, you have sensitive, combination and dehydrated skin, this could be perfect !

fullsizeoutput_263a

fullsizeoutput_2633

fullsizeoutput_2638

The cleansing balm is by the french company, Oh My Cream. I’d say it’s the equivalent of Space NK but in France. They have a very cool website, with great brands like RMS, Joelle Ciocco, Kjaeir Weiss, Oskia, Susanne Kaufmann,, Tata Harper, Paï, Antipodes, etc. They started in 2013 online, and have now opened a few stores all over the country. The most exciting part is that they have recently launched their own range, with gorgeous packaging, affordable prices, lovely ingredients and a very simple yet effective routine. They have released four cleansers, two oils and an exfoliating powder amongst with travel sized minis of the range. They do recommend double cleanse, which I find very interesting, because it means it’s probably something more and more people do which makes me really happy !

I got the balm, because I love how it does not go everywhere, and it travels really well. It partly contains coconut and jojoba oils, oat and salicylic acid and OMC recommends it for sensitive, prone to imperfections skins. It smells a lot like sweet oats (I’m not the best at describing smells, am I ?), which at first I did not like at all but it’s fair to say I really enjoy it now, so I guess I just needed to get used to it. It’s not too strong either, so it helped.

Its thick, gorgeous consistency removes all makeup, and leaves the skin soft and clean. I think it is going to last me a long time, you truly don’t need to use a lot which I appreciate and it’s so efficient and gentle, I simply don’t see myself use something else at the moment.

Next time, I’ll tell you all about my favorite cleanser used in the second step of this double cleansing routine. Basically, I always try to find a routine that involves an oily based product for the first step, and a milk or cream cleanser for the second step, so stay tuned for the next review !

You can get the Oh My Cream Cleansing Balm here by the way, it costs 29 euros for 150ml.

What do you guys use to cleanse your face ? Do you double cleanse ?

The three masks you need

A few years go, masks were something that I would underestimate. Let me tell you, they’re a game changer. I use masks every week, usually on sundays, and they do make a noticeable difference. Here are the three types of masks I believe you should have on your beauty shelf.

I own, and I think it’s the perfect combination, a cleansing mask, an exfoliating mask, and a hydrating mask. And I use them in that order.

EVUGE5352

fullsizeoutput_247c

So first thing first, I cleanse my face with a balm cleanser, or a cream cleanser to prep the skin. Then, masking time.

  1. Cleansing mask. I like to use something that’s clay based, because I have combination skin, and I feel like it acts almost as a deep cleanse. This Green Clay Cattier one is so good, and so cheap. I buy it in french pharmacie, it costs around 4 euros for a huge tub ! It’s a basic mask in the sense that it claims what it does, and clay is the focus in the composition. If you can’t find it, REN does a really good cleanser, that I just leave on the skin for 10 minutes, or, they have the mask version of this cleanser, that I’ve never tried, but sounds good as well.
  2. Exfoliating mask. I owned and finished the REN Glycol Lactic Acid Renewal mask, which is lovely and gentle, but maybe a tad too gentle, because the results were not as good as I hoped. Instead, I once splurged on the Tata Harper Resurfacing mask, and I do not regret it. I don’t leave it on for more than 10 minutes though because of how sensitive my skin is. But It definitely made a big difference on my skin’s texture and radiance.
  3. Hydrating Mask. I, sometimes, depending on what I feel my skin needs, use a hydrating mask after all of these steps. If I don’t, I apply Aesop Parsley Seed Oil. Anyways, the hydrating masks I really love are, the Avène Soothing Moisture mask. Great if your skin is reacting to something, or just as a simple, effective, cheap hydrating mask. What annoys me though, is that the second ingredient is mineral oil. I don’t like this ingredient, because it basically is a cheap ingredient that does nothing for your skin, more on that on Caroline Hirons’s blog. But, this mask really calms my face, and the skin seems to drink it up. It’s cheap, so if you’re on a budget, why not. The other one I use is the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight mask. Rich and very hydrating, I leave it on for hours. You could sleep in it even, which I do from time to time. It smells good and leaves the skin feeling balanced, nourrished and plumped. Gorgeous !

Do you even use masks ? Or is it something you never understood the utility of ?

Glossier : My Top Picks from the Cult Brand

I’m sure you’ve heard about Glossier at some point in the past few months. The brand appeared one day on Instagram, and as you may know, I’d been reading Into The Gloss for many years – it is the website, Glossier’s CEO, Emily Weiss, created way before she launched the skincare and makeup brand. When I first came across this website, it was a real slap in the face, like I told you here. Needless to say, Glossier was a brand I could not wait to try. And for once, I was more excited about the makeup. I’m also trying to streamline my skincare routine so, I choose to focus on makeup.

Unfortunately, they don’t ship to France yet. So when the “oh so famous Colette store” was still open, I got a few products when in Paris. I loved all the stuff I got, though I could not get much because the majority of the products were pretty much sold out. So, feeling a bit frustrated, I thought “Wait a minute, it’s now launched in the UK, that could work !” I’m lucky enough to have lovely Londoners friends who then received my Glossier order and gave it to me on NYE when I went there to spend the holidays.

I had seen Glossier products all over the internet for years when I first got my hands on some items. In Colette, I got really… starstruck when I first got to see them IRL. Ha, the power of good storytelling !

Anyway, you might wanna hear about the products now, am I right ?

fullsizeoutput_2242

fullsizeoutput_2230

So, here are all the products I’ve tested and love. Disclaimer, I haven’t tested the entire range. Also, there are only two products I did not get along with. The first one is the priming moisturizer which is not featured in the pictures for that reason. It made my skin react and go a bit red. As soon as my skin does anything like this, I stop using the product immediately… You now know how sensitive it is, so I don’t use this moisturizer anymore. The other one is the balm dot com, which I like, but that’s it, whereas the other products mentioned I love !

As I told you before, I don’t buy lip balm anymore. Still, I bought this one, ha ! I mean, the coconut scent is insanely nice, even if I usually hate coconut scented stuff. The balm dot come is alright, but I feel like it hydrates my lips for the time it’s on them, but after a few hours, they feel a bit drier that they were before I applied it. It’s actually something I tend to notice whenever I use anything else that my trusty balm.

Digression is my specialty. Now, the products ! Let’s keep it quick and useful.

Stretch Concealer

Probably the best concealer I’ve ever tried. It is stretchy, and works with the skin not against it, you know what I mean ? This concealer is hydrating and dewy. It does not have much coverage but I don’t mind that as it’s buildable. I’d love it if Glossier came up with a foundation version of this !

fullsizeoutput_2245

Boy Brow

Wasn’t much into it at first, now love it. What I do is brush against the hair, and then brush the right way. Doing this makes the brows have texture, color, and hold. It’s natural enough, but does make the brows look fuller in the nicest possible way. I use the shade brown, and would love to try the clear one ! Also, when it gets dry, it gets better.

Cloud Paints

I’m obsessed with blusher and these certainly don’t disappoint. I had lost my favorite at the time of taking the pictures : it’s the shade Puff. A gorgeous true pink. I also enjoy using Beam which is more of a coral-y shade, that I often mix with Puff. I’m not that into the shade Dusk because I love a pink blusher, but it’s lovely to add a bit of warmth to the face, and I’m pretty sure you could lightly contour with it. Also, good on eyelids !

fullsizeoutput_2243

fullsizeoutput_2246

Haloscope in Quartz

It’s the first time ever I’m actually using a highlighter almost everyday. The texture is very creamy, but not greasy, and the Quartz version is simply the perfect champagne yet subtle color to add some light. I put it on the bridge of my nose, on the high points of the cheeks, and under the brows. Oh and also, on the cupid’s bow. Yeah, pretty much everywhere !

The Generation G Lipsticks

The texture of these is something I had never seen before. It’s matte and sheer which sounds weird but it’s the perfect combination to make your lips look full, defined yet a bit out of focus, sort of blurred in the best enhancing way. I have all the shades except for Like. The ones I love the most are Jam a hot pink, Crush a deep berry shade and Zip, on which I’ve wrote an entire article, a true poppy red.

Milky Jelly Cleanser

I won’t go on about this one as I’ve dedicated an post to it. It’s gentle, effective, smells of roses and feels luxurious even if the price point is quite affordable. I have already use two bottles, and have one left… I dread the day it’ll be empty !

There you have it, my full point of view on Glossier ! Have you tried any of Glossier’s products ? Do you think I’m missing out on some products ?
